The order contract for this project was signed on April 7, 2013, and the delivery schedule was extremely tight. The Shield Machine Branch established a special project task force for this project. General Manager Yang Tao convened relevant departments multiple times to implement production plans for each stage and made every effort to compress the manufacturing cycle. From design, commissioning, technical support, procurement, and production organization to each assembly workshop, all levels worked together in concerted effort, greatly improving efficiency.

　　These two Nanjing Metro shield machines encountered many difficulties during the manufacturing stage. For example, at the beginning of assembly, because the imported main reducers did not all arrive on schedule, and the assembly of the main drive section was a prerequisite for completing the assembly and commissioning of the entire machine. To ensure smooth assembly work, relevant personnel of the shield machine company, after calculation and verification and with the user's consent, adopted a plan in which each shield machine used only two main reducers for preliminary no-load factory commissioning, while the remaining four main reducers would be synchronously commissioned together at the construction site. This won two months of assembly and commissioning time.

　　While accelerating progress, the Shield Machine Branch did not forget to reduce manufacturing costs. When purchasing oil for commissioning, it adopted the method of purchasing oil for only one machine. During the factory acceptance of the shield machines, it organized commissioning and assembly personnel to make reasonable scheduling and adjust the acceptance plan with the user, achieving the goal of completing the acceptance of two shield machines within two days using only one machine's worth of commissioning oil. This saved more than 200,000 yuan in procurement costs and also avoided unfavorable situations such as oil drum space occupation and fire and explosion prevention after shipment. Through the unremitting efforts of all employees of the Shield Machine Branch, the production and manufacturing process of this project won praise from the user and the owner. At the factory acceptance meeting, the leader of China Coal Third Construction praised it as follows: "Being able to complete the design, manufacturing, assembly, and delivery of two shield machines in just six months is unimaginable for other shield machine manufacturers. This demonstrates the strong strength of Northern Heavy Industries."
