In his speech, Sun Ziyu required all units to fully understand the importance of technological innovation in driving the group's development at present. In accordance with Chairman Liu Qitao's instruction that "science and technology should focus on strategy and core competitiveness enhancement, drive and support development, and be reformed and improved in practice," they should firmly grasp the "six upgrades" of scientific and technological work and carry them out, namely: the upgrade of the science and technology-driven development strategy, the upgrade of technology innovation platform construction, the upgrade of science and technology R&D projects, the upgrade of standards and construction methods, the upgrade of science and technology support for business operations, production, and technical management, and the upgrade of the science and technology management system and performance evaluation. It is necessary to strengthen the support of science and technology for overseas business and emerging business, provide technical support and guidance for building "Five-Business CCCC" and "Upgraded CCCC," and realize the "CCCC Dream" of taking the lead in building a world-class enterprise with international competitiveness.

The conference received a total of 385 papers recommended by various units. Through expert voting, 22 excellent papers were selected, 206 papers were included in the conference proceedings, and 22 papers were exchanged at the meeting. Delegates also went to the Guishan immersed tube prefabrication yard of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Island and Tunnel Project and the construction site of the west artificial island, where they observed the offshore floating and installation of immersed tubes.

A total of 126 people attended the meeting, including leaders in charge of science and technology work from various units under the company, heads of science and technology departments, and some technical backbones.
