"The first thing to do after returning to China is to recruit foreign trade personnel who understand Portuguese and Spanish." This is the most direct feeling of the head of a Hubei enterprise after inspecting Peru.

On the afternoon of November 22 local time, the Hubei "Into Latin America" economic and trade delegation arrived at its second stop—Lima, the capital of Peru. Before the visit, most Hubei enterprises knew little about Peru. After seeing its vibrant market environment, many entrepreneurs in the delegation repeatedly exclaimed, "We didn't expect this."

Peru is the world's largest silver producer, with gold and zinc reserves ranking third in the world, and oil and natural gas production also among the world's top.

Edi (Peru) Mining Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hubei Provincial Geological and Mineral Bureau. Hu Zhongyue, chairman of the company, said that Peru's mineral development policy is like "draining the water to catch fish"—it is not necessary to buy out all at once. One can first apply for mining rights and pay a mineral maintenance fee of 3 US dollars per hectare per year, and then pay taxes according to law after mining generates benefits. The company has obtained 31 mining rights in Peru, one of which is expected to have copper and gold reserves of more than 500,000 tons. Once mined, it will yield substantial returns.

Special vehicles, construction machinery and other industries related to minerals also benefit directly. Hubei Xinnuo Lude Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., located in Huangshi, signed a large order in Brazil during this trip. A local construction machinery company in Rio purchased 150 loaders and excavators at one time, with a total order value exceeding 40 million RMB.

Lan Jialiang, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Special Automobile (Shiyan) Bus Sales Company, felt particularly亲切 when he saw his company's vehicles on the streets of Peru. "The first thing to do after returning to China is to recruit foreign trade personnel who understand Portuguese and Spanish," Lan Jialiang said. Next, he plans to increase investment in Brazil, Peru and other Latin American countries, focusing on expanding into the mining machinery sector.
