“Hunan will continue to support SANY in going global”

The main purpose of Gennady Shcherbakov’s visit to Hunan was to inspect the development of transportation infrastructure in Hunan and to exchange views on cooperation between the two sides in this field.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Chen Zhaoxiong welcomed Gennady Shcherbakov and his delegation to Hunan. He pointed out that Hunan is one of the earliest provinces in China to have high-speed rail and has comparative advantages in construction machinery, rail transit, and transportation infrastructure construction. The two sides are highly complementary in transportation infrastructure construction and have great potential for cooperation. He expressed the hope that through Gennady Shcherbakov’s visit, enterprises of both sides can enhance understanding and establish substantive cooperative relations.

Gennady Shcherbakov said that during this visit he had seen the achievements of Hunan’s expressway and high-speed rail construction and that Chinese enterprises, especially SANY Group, had played an immeasurable role in infrastructure construction. He sincerely hoped that representatives of relevant Hunan enterprises could attend exhibitions or exchange programs in Russia.

During the discussion, Chen Zhaoxiong affirmed SANY Group’s contribution to the development of Hunan’s expressways. He said: “SANY Group is an international enterprise taking initial shape. In particular, its acquisition of Putzmeister last year further strengthened the company’s capabilities. Hunan will, as always, support enterprises like SANY Group in going global.”

In addition, Chen Zhaoxiong mentioned that in May this year, Babich, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Volga Federal District, visited Changsha and toured SANY Group.

It is understood that after visiting SANY Group at that time, Babich admitted that choosing to visit SANY was not accidental. He said: “SANY Group is not only influential in the industry but also well known in Russia. Russia is now carrying out large-scale housing construction and needs more construction machinery products. We hope that through this visit, we can establish substantive cooperative relations with these enterprises.”

“The Russian market welcomes more SANY products”

Before meeting with Chen Zhaoxiong, Gennady Shcherbakov and representatives of the Russian-Asian Industrial Entrepreneurs Union also visited SANY Group.

The delegation first came to the SANY Road Machinery plant. The brand-new, tall road machinery equipment on both sides of the road attracted the delegation’s attention. According to Xie Zhixia, Chairman of SANY Road Machinery, SANY motor graders are currently seeing rising sales in Australia, South America, Southeast Asia, South Africa, and other regions, with overseas markets booming.

In particular, at the 2013 Bauma exhibition in Germany, the Zimbabwe National Road System purchased nearly 100 SANY motor graders, and Zimbabwean President Mugabe and several ministers specially attended the handover ceremony for the first batch of products. After using the products, leaders of the Zimbabwe road system highly praised the reliability of SANY motor graders and hailed this as Zimbabwe’s most successful overseas procurement.

Xie Zhixia also told the Russian guests that SANY Road Machinery had successfully developed the SAP120 high-grade asphalt paver and a 1-meter milling machine, and that the successful development of these products would bring guests higher returns. After hearing Xie Zhixia’s introduction, the Russian guests promptly asked about the performance and prices of SANY road machinery.

After visiting the road machinery plant, the delegation, led by Tang Xiuguo, President of SANY Group, also visited the recently completed SANY Exhibition Hall. At the exhibition hall, when the Russian guests learned that SANY products had been used in more than 80% of China’s high-rise buildings, they nodded in affirmation. In addition, Plant No. 18, Asia’s largest single-building factory, also left a deep impression on the guests.

Afterwards, everyone went to Meeting Room No. 1 of SANY Group for talks. Before the talks began, Liu Lida told Tang Xiuguo: “Without a doubt, our cooperation partner is SANY Group.” The atmosphere of the talks immediately became lively.

During the talks, Tang Xiuguo said that China and Russia have a long friendship and have helped each other in development, and that he was very pleased to meet Gennady Shcherbakov and representatives of the Russian-Asian Industrial Entrepreneurs Union. “In 2007, on the Chita–Khabarovsk highway construction project in Russia, our SANY products contributed greatly.”

After listening to Tang Xiuguo’s introduction of the company, Liu Lida said that SANY’s plants were impressive and SANY’s products filled people with expectation. “I really like your corporate mission, ‘Quality Changes the World.’” Subsequently, the two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation and stated that they would strengthen cooperation and pursue mutual benefit and win-win results in future development.
