Mr. Chuck Crowell (United States), Acting Convenor of the ISO working group, chaired the meeting. Mr. Zheng Shanglong, Chairman of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Earth-moving Machinery and Chief Engineer of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), delivered a welcome speech. Thirty-four experts and representatives from China, the United States, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Japan and other countries attended the meeting.

　　The meeting reviewed and discussed international standard proposals and drafts, including "Earth-moving Machinery — Greenhouse Gas and Fuel Efficiency Improvements" submitted by the United Kingdom, and "Earth-moving Machinery — Sustainability — Part 2: Remanufacturing" and "Earth-moving Machinery — Sustainability — Part 3: Used Machines" submitted by China, and approved them in principle. The meeting also discussed and determined the specific work content for the next stage of the working group, and planned to hold the next ISO/TC127/WG8 working group meeting in China on May 7-9, 2014.

　　The successful convening of this meeting in China fully reflects the trust and support of the International Organization for Standardization for China's standardization work on earth-moving machinery, and indicates that China has made substantive progress in undertaking the development of international standards for earth-moving machinery. It will actively promote and facilitate the follow-up work of China in undertaking the development of international standards for earth-moving machinery, the vigorous implementation of the sustainable development strategy, and the development of the remanufacturing and used machine sectors of earth-moving machinery in China and the world.
