Medium-speed/medium-torque power section
In general directional and horizontal well drilling, 5:6 lobe motors are commonly used.
For example, 5:6 lobe motors can be used with PDC bits or roller cone bits for drilling rock.

Geruite can customize and supply downhole motors of various sizes and models according to drilling requirements.A downhole motor (mud motor) is a motor powered by drilling fluid that converts fluid pressure energy into mechanical energy.Downhole motors of various sizes and models can be manufactured and supplied according to drilling requirements.A downhole motor consists of four components: a bypass valve, a motor, a universal joint, and a drive shaft. It is currently widely used in directional drilling of horizontal wells and oil and gas drilling.
How does a mud motor work?
The mud pump at the mud outlet flows into the downhole motor through the bypass valve. The pressure loss between the inlet and outlet generated by the flow drives the motor to rotate the shaft around the stator, and then transmits the rotational speed and torque to the PDC bit or tri-cone bit through the universal joint and drive shaft to achieveoperation.Power sections with various lobes, stages, and leads can be designed according to drilling parameters.
High-speed/low-torque power section
This type of power section is suitable for PDC bits, soft formations, and directional drilling operations.
Medium-speed/medium-torque power section
In general directional and horizontal well drilling, 5:6 lobe motors are commonly used. For example, 5:6 lobe motors can be used with PDC bits or tri-cone bits for drilling rock.
Low-speed/high-torque power section
7:8 lobe motors are often used with PDC bits or tri-cone bits for directional drilling and horizontal drilling in medium-hard formations.
