Engine Maintenance
When a rotary drilling rig works for extended periods under high temperatures, the engine is prone to overheating. Therefore, in summer, inspection and maintenance of the rig's engine cooling system should be strengthened. Promptly remove scale from the water tank and water jacket as well as debris lodged between the radiator fins; carefully check the performance of the water pump, fan, and thermostat, and repair any damaged parts promptly, while also adjusting the fan belt tension properly; add cooling water in a timely manner. When the water tank boils over, never shut off the engine, nor pour cold water on the engine, to prevent the block from cracking. Stop the machine in a shaded area to cool down, open the engine hood to aid heat dissipation, and let the engine run at idle.
Hydraulic Oil Maintenance for the Rotary Drilling Rig
In summer, hydraulic oil with higher viscosity should be selected, and water ingress into the hydraulic oil must be prevented. If the hydraulic oil is incorrectly selected or water enters it, hydraulic components will suffer severe wear, which in turn causes internal leakage in the rig's hydraulic system, and also leads to high hydraulic oil temperature and symptoms of slow, weak operation of the rig.
Battery Maintenance
In summer, with high temperatures, the water in the battery electrolyte evaporates quickly, so the battery water level should be checked regularly to confirm it is normal. If the water level drops, add some distilled water. When adding water, be careful not to exceed the water level line. Keep the battery clean, especially the positive and negative terminals on the panel; if white powder appears, clean it off promptly. This will extend the service life of the battery.
Chassis Care
The chassis of a rotary drilling rig is the part closest to the ground and is particularly affected by road conditions; this area is generally the most prone to rust spots, so be sure to pay attention to cleaning and rust-proofing the rig's chassis.
Fuel Tank Maintenance
When a rotary drilling rig is parked for long periods in summer, the fuel tank should be filled with diesel to prevent the tank from rusting.
Paint Finish Care
Summer brings more rain, and the acidic components in rainwater are highly corrosive to the rig's paint finish; over time this will damage the paint. Therefore, in the rainy summer, give the rotary drilling rig a paint care treatment. The long-lasting and effective approach is glaze sealing, while the simple method is waxing.
Other Matters
Carry out normal maintenance in accordance with the requirements of the Yutong Heavy Equipment rotary drilling rig maintenance manual.
