Deep Foundation and Underground Space Engineering Branch of China Construction Industry Association

Since its establishment, the Association has followed its constitution, made full use of its own advantages, and actively served as a bridge between the government and enterprises. It holds academic development forums, launches industry publications, builds online media, provides expert consultation, vigorously promotes new technologies, new processes and new construction methods, showcases inventions and utility patents, and cooperates with counterparts in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to organize technical exchange seminars.
Company Introduction
The Deep Foundation and Underground Space Engineering Branch of China Construction Industry Association was established in June 1987. Originally named the China Deep Foundation Engineering Association, it was later renamed the Deep Foundation Construction Branch of China Construction Industry Association; with the approval of China Construction Industry Association, it was renamed the "Deep Foundation and Underground Space Engineering Branch of China Construction Industry Association" in December 2015. The council of the Branch is based in Beijing and is supported by Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd.; the honorary president is Mr. Xu Ronglie, former chief engineer of the Ministry of Construction; the chief advisor is Mr. Wang Xinjie, former president of the Urban Construction Design Institute; the current president is Dr. Zhang Jinxun, deputy general manager of Beijing Urban Construction Group; and the secretary-general is Mr. Zhang Degong.
The Branch currently has nearly one hundred council member units across the country. The council members are composed of renowned figures such as soil mechanics experts, foundation experts, geotechnical engineering experts, and experienced and capable entrepreneurs. Branch members come from enterprises, institutions and universities engaged in foundation and geotechnical engineering research, survey, design, construction, quality inspection, and construction machinery manufacturing in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other provinces and cities across China.
Since its establishment, the Branch has given full play to its advantages of comprehensive technology, intensive knowledge, interdisciplinary crossover, convenient coordination, extensive contacts and well-informed information, and has actively carried out various activities serving the industry and enterprises. In particular, in 1992 it held the first Cross-Strait Geotechnical Technology/Geotechnical Engineering Exchange Seminar in Beijing, pioneering cross-strait academic exchanges; subsequently, ten such seminars were held successively in Taipei (1993), Xi'an (1994), Shanghai (2002), Taipei (2004), Tianjin (2007), Taichung (2009), Guangzhou (2011), Taipei (2013), Chengdu (2016) and Taipei (2018). For more than twenty years, the continuous exchange and discussion among Cross-Strait geotechnical technology/geotechnical engineering professionals has played a tremendous role in enhancing understanding, strengthening friendship, developing technology and achieving win-win cooperation between the geotechnical technology/geotechnical engineering communities on both sides of the strait.
