At 11 a.m. on April 11, the last pile of the water approach bridge of Niutianyang Grand Bridge was successfully poured, marking the full completion of the water-based cast-in-place pile works and the end of drilling construction. This has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of pile caps, pier shafts, and superstructures. Niutianyang Bridge will now enter a new construction stage, with the final pile cap, pier shaft, and one steel girder remaining for completion, winning ample time for the tight and orderly construction schedule.

The Niutianyang Grand Bridge project is constructed by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. The construction area has complex geological conditions, with great variations in stratum lithology and developed underground boulders. All construction is underwater, invisible and intangible, greatly increasing construction uncertainty. The actual pile bottom elevation is as low as -123.09 meters, the longest pile is 118.82 meters, the pile diameter is 2.5-3.3 meters, and the maximum concrete pouring volume exceeds 700 cubic meters. There are a total of 304 piles across the Rongjiang River.

For the north bank bored piles, advanced construction techniques such as the combination of rotary drilling rigs and KTY400 rotary drilling rigs, and rotary drilling rigs alone, were adopted. Different construction methods were used according to different geological conditions. The shortest hole-forming period with rotary drilling rigs was as short as 8 days, which ensured quality and provided a strong guarantee for the overall schedule.
