On April 10, the rectangular pipe jacking machine independently developed by Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co., Ltd. successfully launched and assembled its first pipe ring for the concourse level of Jing'an Temple Station (Section 9) of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 14. This is also the third pipe-jacking tunnel in the construction of Jing'an Temple Station, and the main construction of the station is entering its final stage.

　　Shallow cover construction —— the pipe-jacking tunnel at the concourse level has a shallow cover of only about 4.8 m. The construction area runs parallel to and overlaps with the two previously completed pipe-jacking tunnels, and steel platforms need to be erected for launching and receiving.

　　Crossing combined sewage pipes —— the construction also requires crossing two combined sewage pipes. Facing multiple challenges, the pipe jacking machine developed by the Machinery Company adopts various methods such as main jacking steering correction, body articulation correction, and intermediate jacking station correction to ensure construction accuracy and keep the entire construction process smooth and orderly.

　　Jing'an Temple Station of Line 14 is located at the intersection of Huashan Road and Yan'an Road, arranged north-south along Huashan Road, and passes beneath the Yan'an Elevated Road. To reduce the impact of construction on Huashan Road and the Yan'an Elevated Road, pipe jacking technology was used for the first time in Shanghai rail transit station construction for non-excavation construction of the station main body. This effectively alleviated traffic pressure on Huashan Road at ground level and on the Yan'an Elevated Road. At the same time, it also solved the problems of traffic diversion and utility relocation during construction.
